Otaru Canal, LeTao cake shop, Musicbox museum, Bus to Otaru Aquarium, Shukutsu, Kihinkan, Times car rental

Otaru was one of my best destination in Hokkaido. You will know why if you have time read to the end of this post. I promise less words and more pictures, as they said picture speak thousands. Moreover i not good in words. You are lucky!

This canal was the most famous photography spot for tourists. Look behind.
The weather was cold. I have to quickly put back my gloves.

(Map point 1) Awesome right? Awesome "left"!
The walls color live up the spirit as well.

(Map point 2)
Google "Otaru canal", you could see plenty of this angle photos.

(Map point 3 street)
This is my favourite shop - Japanese Matcha Sweets.
I loved the green tea ice-cream and especially the Mochi (cake). Simply awesome!
I went back next morning to eat again.

I hesitated to visit this Musicbox Museum as i don't fancy places name with "museum".
But i love music, and since we were at the doorstep so why not.
(Map point 4)
It's an eyes opener.
There were plenty of Musicbox with various shapes and sizes. You can have your favourite music
installed with your chosen Musicbox.

Hopefully you able to play this clip to listen the master piece (hand-made)

Beautiful architecture, go with gorgeous lighting, enliven the street.

The famous LeTao cake shop

It's time to indulge in a scrumptious local seafood dinner.
Read that Otaru was the best for it.
*Note that most restaurants closed early.
(Map point 3 street)
Fortunately, this restaurant was opened. No worries, dinner was awesome!

Every dish was juicy and yummy. No wonder they said must eat seafood food in Otaru.
Frankly, this was the best Japanese seafood set i have eaten. Thumb up!!!

In the morning, before we collect the rental car at 1pm, we headed to "Shukuzu Marina"
(nearby tourist attraction - Otaru Aquarium).
We wanted to be near nature, with beautiful panorama Sea view.

This guide you how to board, alight and make payments.

The bus terminal (Map above point 1) stone throw from Smile Otaru Hotel.

Checked the schedule of the bus and then you can have your breakfast at the train station
while waiting.

Either you purchased bus ticket using this machine or pay direct to the driver.
No worries, you can asked the helpful staff at the bus interchange if you need further info.

*Tip: put your bus ticket inside your phone casing to prevent it lost

Journey about 30 mins from interchange to end terminal which was the Otaru aquarium.
There were some alighting stops in between.

Behind the bus was the aquarium with their flyer wheels.

Lovely! This was what i wished to see!

Above - Otaru Shukutsu Panorama Observation Deck
It was closed that day as the condition was not safe.

Stretching always good. Loosen our tension.

(Map point 1) 5 mins away from Aquarium - Ebisu Shrine

Walk and enjoy the weather and beautiful sky

See how the local life

(Map point 2) Otaru Kihinkan
"The Old Aoyama Villa is a symbol of herring fishing, born out of the dream of a 17- year-old young woman, Masae Aoyama. Imagine how many people enjoyed grand parties nightly in this villa during its prosperous days!"

Awesome experience

These were how it looked in the four seasons!

(Map point 3) Don't have to walk back Aquarium to take bus.
Can wait at this location on way out.

While waiting for bus, recorded some memories.

Back in time to collect the car.
